Regulation Requests for 2013


  • Bodkin Creek at Ventnor Marina and Hammock Marina – The Secretary of The Department of Natural Resources has proposed to amend the current 6 Knot (6.9 MPH) speed limit for Saturdays, Sundays and State holidays for a portion of Main Creek. The proposed regulation concerns an area beginning at Spit Point at the Red #12 in front of Hammock Island Marina extending west just past Ventnor Marina at Graveyard Point. The proposed regulation for this area will be for 6 Knots All Times during the Boating Season only (April 15 through October 15) and 6 knots Saturday, Sunday, and State Holidays from October 16th through April 14th. The current regulation 6 knots Saturday, Sunday, and State Holidays will remain if effect for the rest of Main Creek; this proposal is being made on behalf of boating safety.
     
  • Marsh Islands, North East of the entrance to Ocean Pines Yacht Club – The Secretary of The Department of Natural Resources has proposed to amend the current 6-knot (6.9 MPH) speed limit at the entrance to Pines Point Marina and Ocean Pines Marina. The current area will be expanded to include the waters surrounding the marsh islands NE of the entrance to the Pines Point Marina; this proposal is being made on behalf of boating safety and prevention of further erosion to the islands.
