Resources - Shore Erosion Control

These resources may be of help in learning more about your particular erosion situation, seeing what others have done and learning about possible strategies to pursue, either on your own, or with the advice of SEC or a private contractor.

This represents a collection from several different state and federal entities. Some of these documents are out of print but we have been able to provide them to you electronically. You can view each document or chapter and decide if you need to print it all out or maybe just a portion of it. Some of the documents are more than 200 pages long.

• Shoreline Erosion Control, the Natural Approach Revised 2005 Version - MD Eastern Shore RC&D Council, Inc. Maryland Eastern Shore Resource Conservation and Development Council through a grant from the EPA and DNR.
• Stream Restoration This document shows the Soil Bioengineering Techniques that are demonstrated at Rock Creek Park, City of Frederick, in Frederick County, Maryland.
• Updated Waterfront Property Owners' Guide – The original is out of print but we have reproduced it for you and improved the graphics. All contact information has now been updated. This resource provides guidance to waterfront property owners with basic information for assessing erosion problems and selecting appropriate protection. The information is provided to explain basic concepts and methods. The services of a qualified engineer should be employed for designing a specific shore erosion control project.
