The Maryland Forest Service invites all the schools in Maryland to join us in our 100th Celebration by becoming a CenTREEnial School. Just complete the Centennial Urban Forestry patch program during 2006. This is a great way of supplementing your Arbor Day and Earth Day celebrations.

So come join the celebration! For 100 years, the Maryland Forest Service has been assisting Maryland citizens with their forest resources’ needs. The Centennial Urban Forestry patch program can easily be used by teachers of all grades. It’s a fun and easy way to teach Maryland school children about Maryland’s trees and forests.

In order to show your new Centennial Spirit, the school will receive a certificate and patch suitable for framing and display.

For patch program information contact Marian Honeczy directly at www.mhoneczy@dnr.state.md.us or call 410-260-8531 and ask for information on the patch program. Or, visit our web site to download the program.
