Draft Regulations


At its February 6, 2013 meeting the Critical Area Commission will consider amendments to COMAR for future publication in the Maryland Register as "proposed" regulations. The proposed amendments include a clarification to the definition of "buffer" and various provisions related to the requirement for a local jurisdiction to submit a Buffer Management Plan to the Commission staff. This new publication was developed to assist homeowners with planting and maintaining shoreline Buffers. It includes lots of information about the importance of the Critical Area Buffer and includes Buffer Management Plans that can be used to satisfy Buffer planting requirements for new construction on waterfront lots.
