Ramp at Deep Creek Lake State Park Opens for the Season
24-hour boating access to the lake now available

THAYERVILLE, MD — The State Forest and Park Service announced today that the boat-launch ramp at Deep Creek Lake State Park is now open for the 2004 recreational season. This should be particularly good news for fishermen after trout, walleye, bass, and yellow perch, all abundant in Deep Creek Lake.

“The recent warm weather has finally broken up the ice, and we are pleased to be able to provide this service to our visitors,” said park manager Paul Durham. Once the use of the ramp increases, the park expects to install its docks, probably later in the spring.

More information about the park may be obtained by telephoning park headquarters at 301-387-5563 or by visiting its website at http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/western/deepcreeklake.html.
