Natural Resources Police Promote 21 Officers

ANNAPOLIS - The Natural Resources Police (NRP), the law enforcement arm of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), announced the promotion of 21 of its officers from around the state. The officers were honored at a ceremony at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Annapolis on April 15. The promotions became effective Wednesday, April 14.

DNR Secretary C. Ronald Franks attended the ceremony along with Deputy Secretary W. Pete Jensen, Assistant Secretary for Management Services Mark Belton and NRP Acting Superintendent Tammy S. Broll. NRP Cpt. Randy Witter was the emcee for the evening and NRP Ofc. Raymond Griggs gave the invocation and benediction.

“I cannot offer enough praise for our NRP officers, particularly those we honored this evening,” Secretary Franks said. “They have worked long and hard to get to this point in their careers. Our command staff has great faith in their capabilities and has selected them as the best candidates for the job. They are the future leaders of Maryland’s Natural Resources Police.”
