6th Upper Eastern Shore Wade-In Set For
The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center June 19
WHAT: Roll up your pants and lace up your sneakers with members of the Upper Eastern Shore Tributary Team on as they host their annual Wade-In. This year’s event features FREE wade-in t-shirts (first come, first served!), a fly fisherman’s contest, a Scavenger Hunt, live animal exhibits and touch tank, hands-on activities, fish seining, live music, and many more activities and displays for the entire family.
In what has become an annual event for Maryland’s 10 Tributary Teams, the Wade-Ins are inspired by former State Senator C. Bernie Fowler, who began wading into the Patuxent River 16 years ago with family and friends to highlight concerns about declining water quality in Maryland’s tributaries and the Chesapeake Bay.
WHEN: SATURDAY, JUNE 19 10 A.M. TO 2 P.M. with the actual Wade-In taking place at 1 p.m..
WHO: Everyone is invited to join Queen Anne’s and Kent County Commissioners and with Delegate Richard A. Sossi (R- District 36, Caroline, Cecil, Kent & Queen Anne's Counties) at this fun filled family event.

DIRECTIONS FROM ANNAPOLIS, BALTIMORE AND WASHINGTON: Cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (Maryland Route 50 East) to exit 43B (Chester River Beach Road). Turn right on Chester River Beach Road, then left on Route 18. Take the first right onto Perry Corner Road. The entrance to Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center is located about 1/2 mile on the right, and is clearly marked with a brown and white sign. Turn right at the sign onto a dirt road called Discovery Lane. Follow Discovery Lane until it ends at the Visitor Center parking lot.
