Natural Resources Police Recover Third Body From Boating Incident
HEREFORD - Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) and Baltimore County Fire Department officials recovered the body of Robert G. Harris, Sr. of Orrtanna, Pa. at approximately 1:09 p.m. today.
Harris had been missing since the boat he was in with three companions overturned Thursday night in the Prettyboy Reservoir. His son, Robert G. Harris, Jr. was the lone survivor. The 1 aluminum boat the four were in remains missing; it sunk after the incident Thursday night.
His body was found about 15 yards from where it was believed to have been missing in approximately 15-20 feet of water. The body was located using sonar equipment from the Baltimore County Fire Department, and divers from NRP and Baltimore County Police subsequently located the body.
Harris’ body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for autopsy. Natural Resources Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
