Black Bear Hunting Lottery Checks Now Accepted
ANNAPOLIS — Due to an overwhelming response for the Black Bear Hunting application process, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will now be accepting checks and money orders when applicants apply over the phone beginning Thursday, Sept. 9.
Since the application process opened yesterday (Tuesday), more than 387 applications have been received; 223 have applied online and 164 have applied via the call center.
Applicants wishing to pay via check or money order should call 888-579-6768. Once the applicant has applied for the lottery the operator will provide the applicant with instruction on mailing the check or money order. All checks must be postmarked by Sept. 21 and received by Sept. 27 or the applicant will be disqualified.
Anyone wishing to pay with a credit card can still do so over the phone at 888-579-6768 or online at http://blackbear.dnr.state.md.us. Online applications remain credit card only.
