Bunker Hill Road Access To Gunpowder Falls State Park Temporarily Closed

HEREFORD — The Maryland Park Service today announced that due to excessive rain and severe road damage, the Bunker Hill Road access to Gunpowder Falls State Park is closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.

This closure will impact youth group camping at Camp Wood. Youth groups interested in making camping reservations are advised to call Gunpowder Falls State Park at 410-592-2897. The staff at Gunpowder Falls State Park will make every effort to accommodate groups at other available facilities within the park.

For visitors interested in fishing and hiking, the park will remain open; however, vehicular traffic is not permitted on Bunker Hill Road south of the Big Gunpowder Falls River. Alternative access points to consider are Falls Road, Masemore Road, York Road and Big Falls Road. Bunker Hill Road north of Big Gunpowder Falls River (off Falls Road) remains open.
