Power Plant Public Meeting July 14 In Urbana
URBANA — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Power Plant Research Program will hold a public meeting at the Urbana Fire Hall on Thursday, July 14 at 6 P.M. The purpose of this meeting is to receive comments from members of the general public regarding the proposal of the Potomac Edison Company to construct a 230 kV transmission line from an existing transmission line (the Lime Kiln-Montgomery Transmission Line) to its existing Urbana Substation.
All affected landowners and any other interested citizens in Frederick County are invited to attend the meeting. Staff from the Power Plant Research Program will moderate a forum in which all participants are welcome to express their views regarding the proposed route and alternatives that have been suggested. In addition, comments regarding other alternatives are welcome.
Registration for the meeting will begin at 6 P.M. The remainder of the agenda is as follows:
• 6:30 to 7 P.M. – Opening Plenary Session
• 7 to 7:30 P.M. – Technical Overview
• 7:30 to 9:30 P.M. – Work Group Breakout Sessions
• 9:30 – 10 P.M. – Final Plenary Session
