Fishing Challenge Finalists Selected
On July 23 at City Dock in Annapolis, Governor Robert L. Ehrlich and DNR Secretary C. Ronald Franks joined the four finalists in the Maryland $1,000,000 Fishing Challenge for the last event of the tournament. The finalists played the High Fives Money Bags Game for a chance to win $1,000,000, $50,000, $10,000 or a gift $1,250 gift certificate to Boater’s World. While none of the finalists won cash prizes, they each walked away with a great fish story and $2,500 in gift cards to Boater’s World (generously doubled from the original prize). - Robert J. Porohnavi, Selbyville, Del., who caught a largemouth bass on June 5;
- Brian R. Nurmi, Annapolis, Md. who caught a white perch on June 11;
- Edward M. Dailey, Baltimore, Md. who caught a striped bass on June 27; and
- Larry Taylor, Seaford, Del., who caught a largemouth bass on July 9.
