Black Bear Hunt Applications Available By Phone Starting Aug. 1
Applications to participate in this fallís black bear hunt will be accepted by phone at 1-888-579-6768 starting Monday, Aug. 1. The hunt is scheduled for Oct. 24-29 and Dec. 5-10 in Garrett County and areas west of Evitts Creek in Allegany County. Once DNRís harvest objective of 40-55 bears is reached, the 2005 season will be closed. Applicants must pay a $15 nonrefundable application fee and may only enter once. 200 permits will be issued through a random drawing.
