DNR to Recognize Clean Marinas Aug. 11

DNR Secretary C. Ronald Franks will present Clean Marina certifications to 21 marinas at an annual recognition ceremony, Thursday, Aug. 11, 12- 1:30 p.m. at the Sandy Point State Park Marina. Elected officials from the marinas’ representative counties, the Marine Trades Association of Maryland and MDE Asst. Secretary Steve Pattison will also attend. A lunch and tour of best management practices employed by the park’s marina will follow the award presentation. The timing of the day coincides with National Marina Day, sponsored by the Association of Marina Industries on Saturday, Aug. 13.
