NRP Investigate Cecil County Boating Incident
Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) are investigating a boating incident that occurred early Sunday, Aug. 7 in the Elk River. At approximately 2:30 a.m., a 23-foot power vessel struck a buoy head-on near the mouth of the Bohemia River.. The vessel’s owner/operator Brett M. Singer, 24, of Coatesville, Pa. and passenger Jenny P. Baez, 40, of New Castle, Del. were flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore in critical condition. Two other passengers, Jennifer L. Fertig, 24, of Newark, Del. and Samuel L. Law, Jr., 24, of Coatesville, Pa. were transported to Union Hospital in Elkton with non-life threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
