Board of Public Works Approves $1,186,000 for Additional Montgomery County Park Acreage
On Wednesday, Aug. 10, the Board of Public Works approved $1.19 million for acquisition of 2.26 acres for the existing five-acre Evans Parkway Neighborhood Park in Silver Spring. The new acquisition is located west of the existing park and contributes to a green boulevard effect along the Georgia Avenue corridor between Silver Spring and Wheaton. The property had previously been approved for development of a recreation activity building.
