Ethnobotany Symposium Being Held in Western Maryland Oct. 13-14

Frostburg State University, West Virginia University and The University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute (UMBI) are hosting the first Western Maryland symposium on an emerging effort to link bioscience and with traditional herbal science and medicines on Oct. 13 and 14 at Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort in Cumberland. The Ehnobotany Symposium will discuss the collaborative efforts on ethnobotanical studies that integrate bioscience with indigenous herbal medicine practices, wildlife habitats, conservation efforts, cottage industries, and economic development for Central Appalachia.
