Baltimore City Commits to Urban Tree Canopy Goal

In an effort to improve water and air quality for its residents, Baltimore recently became the second city in the Chesapeake Bay watershed to commit to increasing its urban tree canopy, which currently covers 20 percent of the city. City and state officials plan to meet in October to begin the process of deciding upon an Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) Goal specifically for Baltimore.
