NRP Investigate Boat Fire Fatality
NRP continues their investigation of the death of John Linton Ashby, 60, of Washington D.C. Ashby’s body was discovered Friday afternoon, Oct. 21, on his 37-foot vessel docked at Mears Pt. Marine in Queen Anne’s County. A citizen saw smoke coming from Ashby’s vessel and called 911. Firefighters discovered the body while extinguishing the fire. The Maryland State Fire Marshal is assisting NRP in the investigation.
