BPW Approves $454,054 for Lower Deer Creek Rural Legacy Area
Wednesday, Nov. 16, the Board of Public Works approved $454,054 in Rural Legacy Program funds to Harford County for the purchase of the Garano Property in the Lower Deer Creek Rural Legacy Area, linking other protected acreage and resulting in a large contiguous block of more than 3,620 protected acres. This conservation easement on a 120.554-acre property will protect significant farmland and forest resources. In addition, required forest buffers will help improve water quality in the Deer Creek River which flows into the Susquehanna River.
