NRP Charge New York Man With Undersized Turtles
Jon Michael Scuderi, 30, of West Babylon, NY was charged Saturday, Dec.17 by the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) for possession of 17 undersized turtles. Scuderi was issued a citation for possession of turtles with a carapace length of less than four inches at the Havre de Grace Reptile Expo. The Annotated Code of Maryland states a person who imports, transports, sells, transfers, breeds, raises, keeps or possesses any live turtle with a carapace length less than four inches or viable turtle eggs is guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment not exceeding one year or both.
