BPW Approves $226,402 in Program Open Space Funds for Allegany County

On January 3, Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. announced that the Board of Public Works approved $226,402 in Program Open Space funds for Allegany County for two acquisition and development projects. The Lonaconing Recreation Area will receive $39,190 to acquire an additional .34 acres to expand the existing one-acre recreation area, and Smouse Park will receive $187,212 to develop a new ball field.
