DNR Suggests Making Recycled Greetings Cards -- A Natural Valentine
Everyday we use many things made from trees so this Valentine’s Day, why not recycle a newspaper to make your card? A homemade card from recycled paper will not only be appreciated by your Valentine – it will help save the trees so important to water quality. Trees help clean the air, cool the earth, shelter wildlife, cool our streams and provide food and habitat for fish. They also help keep the Bay clean by filtering pollutants and nutrients from run off. Also, for children interested in conserving natural resources, learn how to make a recycled card at the Explorers Club where you can also enter into a drawing for a chance to win monthly prizes. The Explorers Club features a different environmental or outdoor activity each month for children. Children under the age of 16 can enter in a recycling Valentines Day card contest here.
