NRP Sgt. Mel Adams Named DNR Employee of the Year
Sergeant Mel Adam (Elkton, MD) of the Maryland Natural Resources Police was named DNR’s 2006 Employee of the Year. Sgt. Adam was recognized for the organization and coordination of the S.T.A.R. Team (Search Tactics And Rescue) which is a unit that specializes in tracking and locating individuals in rural areas. He is currently assigned to the Special Operations Division, where is supervises The S.T.A.R. Team, Underwater Operations, Canine Unit and the Search Support Unit. He also coordinates and establishes standards for the volunteers associated with the agency's search operations.
