DNR Seeks Citizen Input On Use Of Public Lands For Wind Energy Generation
Wind Energy Public Meetings Rescheduled to Allow Greater Participation

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The public comment meetings previously scheduled on January 23 and 24 to discuss the use of public lands to host wind power turbines and related infrastructure have been rescheduled. Based upon recommendations received by local citizens, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) rescheduled and relocated the public meetings to avoid conflicting with other events and to allow greater participation.

In January, DNR will hold two public meetings, one in Western Maryland and one in Annapolis, to provide general information on wind energy and to obtain opinions and suggestions regarding the use of Maryland’s public lands. Comments will also be accepted online at http://www.dnr.state.md.us/sustainability/wpm/.

Public meeting dates and locations are rescheduled to:

Wednesday, January 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Garrett College Auditorium
687 Mosser Road in McHenry (Garrett County)

Thursday, January 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Arundel Center Room 161
