Governor Martin O’malley to Kick Off Partnership for Children in Nature
Appointees of Panel to Promote Outdoor Experiences, Environmental Literacy for Maryland’s Children to be Announced
MILLERSVILLE, Md. — Governor Martin O’Malley will arrive at Arlington Echo by boat on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 12:30 p.m. to kick-off Maryland’s new Partnership for Children in Nature. After joining children conducting water quality monitoring and seining along the Severn River shoreline, Governor O’Malley will participate in a rally with Congressman John Sarbanes and the No Child Left Inside Coalition. To conclude the rally, Governor O’Malley will join students planting a tree in commemoration of the new partnership. The event will also feature the announcement of the appointees to the panel tasked with increasing outdoor experiences and environmental literacy for Maryland’s children.
