Elk Neck State Forest Shooting Ranges Closed Saturday, September 13
Youth outdoor field day to occur
NORTH EAST, MD — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Elk Neck State Forest shooting range complex in Cecil County will be closed on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, in order to host the Northern Chesapeake Sportsman for Kids field day event.This annual event is made possible by a partnership with DNR and corporate sponsors and was established to introduce local youth ages 10-13 to various outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and boating. The shooting range will reopen on Sunday, Sept. 14 and resume regular hours of operation from 9 a.m. to sunset. For more information about the complex, contact the state forest at (410) 287-5675.
