NRP Recovers Body In Nanticoke River
On April 16, 2009, at 8:00 am, the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) recovered a body in the Nanticoke River, in the Riverton area of Wicomico County, approx. 1/4mile north of the scene of an April 4, 2009 boating accident. The body has been identified as Cody Coulbourne, from Salisbury, Maryland, and transported to the Medical Examiners Office in Baltimore for further investigation by the NRP Investigative Unit.
NRP officers had been continuously searching for the two victims of the boating accident since the accident date. The accident occurred during strong winds and rough waters..
The Maryland Natural Resources Police encourage all boaters to wear life jackets while on board. It is estimated that 80 percent of all boating fatalities could be prevented if the victims were wearing a life jacket.
