Maryland Natural Resources Police Blotter
Allegany County - On April 26, 2009, the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) charged Brian Lee Moats of Oakland, Maryland, with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence per se, driving while impaired, driving while suspended, driving while impaired and transporting a minor and driving in violation of an alcohol court order.
Garrett County - On April 24, 2009, NRP charged Jeffrey Joseph Bittner Jr. of Swanton, Maryland, and Michael Brian Muir of Glen Burnie, Maryland, with underage possession of alcohol in Savage River State Forest. Robert Allen Short Jr. was charged with providing alcohol to a person under 21 years of age.
On April 25, 2009, in the area of Big Run State Park, NRP charged Charles Richard Smith of Mountain Lake Park, Maryland, with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired and an unattended motor vehicle.
On April 25, 2009, NRP charged Roger Wayne Evans of Kitzmiller, Maryland, with hunting turkeys with the aid of bait. This offense occurred on private property in the area of Kitzmiller. The hunting of wild turkeys is prohibited in an area where shelled, shucked, or unshucked corn, wheat or other grain, salt, or other feed capable of luring, attracting, or enticing wild turkeys is directly or indirectly placed, exposed, deposited, distributed, or scattered. An area is considered a baited area for 10 days following complete removal of all corn, wheat or other grain, salt, or other feed.
