
41st Annual Maple Syrup Making Demonstration
Annapolis, Md. (March 9, 2011) — Cunningham Falls State Park will host
the 41st Annual Maple Syrup Making Demonstration and pancake breakfast on March
12, 13, 19 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the William Houck Area.
Park staff will explain the history and how sap has been made into syrup. There
will be maple syrup demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a piping hot
sausage and pancake breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. A
children’s tent and live music will also be available.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of Cunningham Falls State Park and a
donation will be asked for entrance into the event. Youth groups are asked to
donate $1 per person. Maryland made maple syrup, maple candy and related
souvenirs will be available for sale.
A sign language interpreter is scheduled for demonstrations on each Sunday from
10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Pets are prohibited at the event, but welcome in the upper parking lot, falls
lot and trails.
