Fun Facts
Bluefish are a blue green shade above with silver sides and
underbelly.
They have large powerful jaws that
are lined with a single row of small, razor-sharp triangular teeth.
Bluefish have a large forked tall fin
that pushes them swiftly through water.
Bluefish swim together in large
schools of like-sized fish.
(Please note that a school of fish is
not the same thing as an elementary or middle school.)
Bluefish they will strike at almost any object in the water column.
They are voracious predators and sight feeders. They will even kill prey they do not eat.
Every so often, they bite human swimmers who were unfortunate
enough to swim near a feeding school of Blue fish.
