TEAM DNR Volunteer Training Overview
Prior to entering the classroom, TEAM volunteers undertake a hands-on training program. Every volunteer attends three full-day training workshops. During the year, a refresher training is offered to brush up on finer points or to practice modules. Core Training Topics:

Goal of TEAM Training WorkshopsTEAM training provides volunteers with the knowledge and skills they will need to conduct classroom programs confidently. Volunteers come away from the training with a new understanding of the Chesapeake Bay and how its many components interact. Additional Training OpportunitiesIn addition to our core training workshops, TEAM offers volunteers experiences to broaden knowledge on specific species, management issues, or actual natural resource jobs. We also encourage volunteers to visit State Parks on their own time. |

Oyster TrainingFisheries staff will introduce volunteers to the oyster, its anatomy and the fisheries issues surrounding it. An oyster dissection will be included. This is followed by a review and demonstration of TEAM’s oyster reef classroom program. |
