Visit Cunningham Falls State Park for the 41st Annual Maple Syrup Making Demonstration and pancake breakfast with your family and friends. Learn how sap has been made into syrup for hundreds of years. On March 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th 2011 there will be maple syrup demonstrations from 10am to 2pm, and a piping hot sausage and pancake breakfast will be served from 9:00am until 2:30pm for an additional charge (cash only).

The event is sponsored by the Friends of Cunningham Falls State Park. A $2 minimum per person donation will be requested. Youth groups are asked to contribute $1 per person. Proceeds benefit the ‘Friends of Cunningham Falls and Gambrill State Parks.

In addition to the syrup making demonstrations and breakfast, there will be a children’s tent and live music. A sign language interpreter is scheduled for demonstrations on each Sunday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Directions

Cunningham Falls State Park’s William Houck Area is located at 14039 Catoctin Hollow Road, just west of Thurmont, MD. Take Rt. 77 west from Thurmont and turn left on to Catoctin Hollow Rd. Turn right into the park and follow the signs to the demonstration area.

A demonstration of the boiling of Maple Sap into Maple Syrup at Swallow Falls State Park. Pure Maple Products will be offered for sale during the demonstration. Cost: $3/car in state $4/car out of state

Herrington Manor State Park
Pancake Breakfast & Maple Syrup Demonstration

A demonstration of the boiling of sap into Maple Syrup along with a pancake breakfast. Pancakes, buckwheat cakes, pure maple syrup, sausage, orange juice and coffee will be served. Pure maple products available for sale. A small scale evaporator will be set up to demonstrate the boiling process.
Cost: $7/adults $4/children
