Fishermen are catching limits of tautog at the Route 50 Bridge/ inlet this week and now that the creel limit has gone to four fish one can really enjoy a day of fishing. Most fishermen are fishing from the bulkheads, the bridge and jetties with frozen sand fleas or pieces of green crab. The last bit of tide and slack water has been the best times to fish. Fishermen are also catching more and more striped bass each day; many were short this past week but there certainly is plenty of action and a number of keeper sized fish are being caught.

Surf fishermen have been having a tough time dealing with northeast winds and heavy surf but when things calm down they have been catching small bluefish and skates during the day. At night a few larger striped bass have been landed and many fishermen are talking about being covered up with spiny dogfish. Everyone is expecting the large bluefish to hit the surf any day; perhaps this weekend.

The Ocean City wreck fishing fleet has been sneaking out to fish the wrecks and artificial reefs between the northeast blows when they can. When they do get out they are catching a mix of sea bass and tautog. Now that the tautog limit has been raised to 4 for the month of November this is a great boast to the lack luster catches that the sea bass fishery has been showing for fishermen recently. The boats that have been going out of the inlet and fishing within 3-miles of the beach have been trolling for a mix of striped bass and large bluefish and this fishery continues to gain momentum every week. They also have been bottom fishing for croakers and sea trout when they can find them close to the beaches.
