Fishermen have been reporting a better grade of flounder in the back bay areas of Ocean City this week and a somewhat lower throwback ratio. Many anglers are using larger baits such as live spot targeting larger flounder and straying from squid strips due to the croakers setting up residence inside the inlet. The croakers seem to be slacking off a bit and moving outside the inlet lately. Small sea bass are still stealing baits near the inlet.
In and around the Route 50 Bridge and Inlet area fishermen are catching flounder during the day; triggerfish 
are being caught on sand fleas near the jetties. At night bluefish are the target of fishermen casting Got-Cha lures and drifting live ells is the ticket for night time striped bass fishing. Spot are still holding up near and above the Route 90 Bridge.
Surf fishermen are seeing the best fishing for a mix of summer species such as kingfish, flounder, croaker, spot and small bluefish towards the evening hours. They are also catching a mix of large sharks and sting rays.
Croakers are being found by the bottom fishing fleet off the beaches; often in slough areas. Flounder are the steadiest catch out at the wreck sites with a few keeper size sea bass coming over the rails.
Offshore fishermen have had a tough nut to crack this week with green water and persistent southwest winds dominating the areas near the canyons. Fishermen are reporting a typical summer mix of yellowfin tuna, white marlin, dolphin and a few bluefin tuna and blue marlin.
