Opening Day of Trout season

Type: Freshwater
Region: Central
Location: Rocks State Park - Deer Creek

My son Jason and I went out for our annual opening day trip at Deer Creek (Rocks State Park). Needless to say it was the coldest opener that I recall in a good while! The fishing was very slow which was odd because we normally have a limit by 9. My son did manage to hook up with a rainbow trout which was the oddest one Iíve ever seen, it was a short but fat trout! We left a short time later so we could warm back up. We came back out later on Saturday and I managed to catch another nice one. We used Berkley Powerboats (white). We will be back out fishing this week!

Perfect Day to Fish for Perch

Type:
Region:
Location:

On December 27, 2014, the weather was perfect to take the kids fishing to see if the perch were biting. The water temp was in the low 40's and we fished 2" Berkley Power Grubs on a 1/8oz heads. We targeted shallow water and the fish were there. We fished for about 2 hours and caught about 2 dozen fish. My children Jason, Avery and Kaitlyn were all smiles when the fish continued to bite their baits! This was a great way to finish out fishing for 2014!

Another Great Day on the Chesapeake

Type: Chesapeake
Region:
Location: Chesapeake Bay

We went fishing with our good friend Jim Thompson to live line some bait in hopes of catching some rockfish . Once again our hopes of landing some big fish came true. During our trip, we caught several nice fish with a few undersized and some with sores. Once again it was a great day on the water !

Fishing the Schools

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Mid Bay
Location: Off Sandy Point

Went fishing with good friend Jim Thompson and found a large school of Rockfish. We were able to stay on the school for about 3 hours catching Stripers on buck tails and spoons before the bite died off. The average size of the fish were 18-30 inches and all of them were healthy. We kept our limit and had fun fishing for the rest!

Took my Son Fishing

Type: Freshwater
Region: Northern
Location: Susquehanna River

06-28-2011: My son Jason and I took a trip out on the river for some Bass fishing. The morning was overcast with thick fog on the river. My lure of choice is a crankbait most of the time for the river. Our morning consisted of catching 5 bass (several over 15") 1 nice catfish about 30" (lost @ boatside) 1 yellow perch 1 Rock bass . All of the fish were very active this morning just before the sky opened and dumped a bunch of rain on us for about 30 minutes. Good thing we carry our Gore Tex suits on the boat. We were only fishing for about 4 hours. Here are some of the pictures of our 2 largest bass. All the fish were released for another day of fishing.
