Two Great Days of Fishing

Fished a farm pond in Howard County Friday morning where we did very well. Caught about 30 bass in 2 hours. The picture above is the biggest of the day. All fished were released to be caught another day.

Then on Monday the 28th we fished the upper Potomac River just above Brunswick MD. We did very well landing over 35 smallmouth, 5 catfish, 3 walleye and more darn sunfish than we could count. Sometime you just can’t control what bites your lure. We have been fishing the upper Potomac for many years now and have never caught a walleye, and this past Monday we actually caught 3 of them. The biggest being in the picture above.

Fishing the Upper Potomac River

My buddy and I fished the Upper Potomac River all day yesterday. We had a pretty good day, landing over 35 smallmouth bass. The water temp was in the low 70’s and the cloud cover made it very nice to catch fish. Below is the biggest bass we caught yesterday. JJ’s Jigs Grubber jig is to thank for this big girl.

Mainstem of Upper Potomac River

We went fishing on the upper Potomac both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The water temp was in the high 40’s. The wind and the current were both very strong making it near impossible to present your lure the way they wanted it. We did manage to catch a couple of smallmouth bass. While fishing for them we hooked into a big channel catfish using a small tube, much to our surprise. All in all we had a great time and we just excited to be out for the first time of the year. Its only going to get better from here on out.
