No Fish Just Ponies at Assateague

Type: Ocean
Region: Eastern
Location: Assateague Island, MD

Last week my mom and dad took me to Assateague Island State Park to fish, see the ponies, and to do the Park Quest. We didn't catch any fish but we did see a couple of ponies.

I also visited my mom and dad's friends Bob and Sandy. Bob took us fishing at Crosswicks Creek in his boat. I caught a lot of fish (catfish, white perch, and one small rockfish). I released everything that I caught. I had a great day at both the places that I went to.

Love at First Sight

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Greenwell State Park

I went fishing with my mom and dad on Saturday at Greenwell State Park. I caught a fish on my first cast. It was a White Perch. I gave it a kiss for good luck and put it back in the water. After fishing we hiked the Green Trail and the River Trail. It was a really fun day.

Hot, Humid and No Fish

Skylar went fishing yesterday at Leonardtown Wharf. We went at lunch time and it was hot, hazy, humid, and not a fish to be found in Leonardtown. She did catch one curious crab.

Fish on a Stick

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Fishing Pier

I went fishing with my dad on 6/25/14 at the local fishing pier in Southern Maryland. I had a fun time catching and releasing white perch. I even caught one with a tree branch (I thought at first it was a catfish because it was really tough reeling it in). I called the catch "fish on a stick".
