Fished Gunpowder at Hammerman and Sandy Point State Park
Location: Mouth of the Gunpowder and the Bay Bridge
After a disappointing experience last weekend on a Rockfishing Charter, we were about to switch to trout for the rest of the year. In a last ditch effort we took the last of our blood worms to the Gunpowder portion of the Bay and to the Bay Bridge. Not only did we have alot of success at both locations, but we did so without even taking a boat out. At Gunpowder we picked up about 2 dozen white perch, and a couple of big yellow perch. From the rocks at Sandy Point State Park we picked up close to a dozen Rockfish in less than 2 hours. Of those rockfish picked up, 4 of them were keeper size, the biggest coming in at 25 inches long. The fish are still out there, you just have to be patient and find the right spots.
