Trout Opening Day at Northwest Branch
Type: Freshwater
Region: Central
Location: Northwest Branch
Parker Maschauer, a young angler from Cambridge, MD, traveled to NorthWest Branch to sample the trout fishing on opening day this Saturday. Parker was up at 3:20 am and on the stream by 5 and was fishing with his dad, Neil, and his grandfather and mother.
I encountered several other families of trout fishermen on NorthWest Branch. Many people that fish for Put and Take trout view opening day as a tradition they share with their parents and children. It was gratifying to see so many young anglers out on a chilly morning learning to fish with their parents and family.
