Bumpy Oak Pond Snakeheads
Type: Freshwater
Region: Southern
Location: Bumpy Oak Pond
I had a fun week trying to catch my first snakehead. I started Monday at Bumpy Oak with no luck at all, the only bites I got were from mosquitoes. Tuesday I met Fred who I now call Snakehead Fred. He steered me in the right direction, and I had a couple runs. Then finally on Saturday I caught my first snakehead which was over 7 pounds. I caught it on a top water frog. Thanks for the net work John.
My 6 year old son Micky hooked what we think is this same fish and everyone on the pond got into him trying to land it. He was using a top water frog so it was exciting to say the least, but it got away from him. Then I came over to the same spot. I ended up landing my 2nd snakehead. What a fun day at Bumpy Oak Pond.
