Potomac River Fishing
Location: Mallows Bay and Smallwood State Park
On 9/17/12, I caught one 17" snakehead, and one fat 23" snakehead was given to me by another angler, who also caught one 30" or more. The weatherman called for rain but it never rained. All were caught using topwater frogs in the thick weed beds. A fun time on the river!
On another day I caught 2 snakeheads walking a topwater frog slowly over the thick grass beds. My fishing partner, Fred landed 6. Gill arches removed, fish eaten…yum!
On Labor Day I caught 8 species of fish including my 1st ever 11" red drum.
