Bass Fishing Report
Location: Rocky Gorge Reservoir and Lake Elkhorn
I've been fishing from about 7am-11am each weekend. Air temps have been cold but the water still seems relatively warm. All these fish were caught from the bank using a 7 ft. Med action rod and a baitcaster spooled with 15 lb mono.
This first bass was caught at Rocky Gorge Reservoir on 9/8/12. I was fishing a point, early morning, and caught this guy on a pumpkin colored 5" senko. I tried topwaters, shallow cranks, spinnerbaits, but didnít catch any fish.
This second bass was caught early morning on 9/9/12 at Lake Elkhorn. I caught this guy right under the boat dock on the western end of the lake. I caught another bass that morning as well, off a point directly across from the dockside lane parking area. Once again I was fishing a senko, texas rigged.
The final bass was caught the morning of 9/16/12. Caught it on a senko right at the edge of some lily pads. He got stuck in the pads for a bit but i managed to pull him out. This was in the little inlet that sticks out on the northern part of the middle of the lake, near the red bridge.
As I've said, I tried other lures but I was only getting bites on the plastic worm. I plan to go out again this weekend and maybe fish from a canoe.
All fish were caught and then promptly released.
