Upper Potomac Report

Type: Freshwater
Region: Western
Location: Upper Potomac Near Dargan

Pat O’toole and I got out at Dargan last Friday, October 12 at daybreak. We were hopeful that the cold temps had turned the fish on for a good bite. However, the action was rather slow until the wind picked up and the front moved in. We landed three nice smallies in the 14 inch range and several others that were not as big. A number of good bluegills were caught and we, once again, boated a couple of small largemouth. The largemouth population seems to be increasing in the Shepherdstown and Dargan area. The wind finally got the best of us and we were off the water by 2 pm.
