North Branch Potomac Bows

Type: Freshwater
Region: Western
Location: North Branch Of Potomac River

After seeing a bunch of great posts on the North Branch, on 12/4/2012, me and a good fishing buddy made the trip out west. We started out fishing Stink Hole behind the water treatment plant. We had a good start and both of us caught five trout a piece all in the 8 to 12 inch range. After Stink Hole, we headed over the mountain to Barnum and started fishing the hole just above Cemetery Hole. At this point I hooked into a 21" beauty while fishing a size 10 San Juan worm on an indicator rig. Being new to fly fishing, this was a huge deal for me getting my first stream trout over 20" and a trip/ fight that will surely not be forgotten any time soon. After we released my monster, Josh hooked into his 20" beast also on a san juan and made it seem easy landing him. It is always nice heading to the North Branch and fishing through the beautiful scenery but sure makes it tough having to head back to reality and work. The first two pics are of my bow and the last two of Josh with his. All fish were released to grow bigger and be caught on another trip.
