Salisbury Pickerel and Crappie
Type: Tidal
Region: Eastern
Location: Salisbury
Chain Pickerel and Crappie caught in Salisbury, Maryland with a medium sized shad dart on 6 lb mono. I placed an orange wooden bobber about 3 feet above the shad dart with a small plastic minnow as well as a bull minnow attached. With a combination of bobbing and slow reeling, some nice sized fish were hooked. After catching some decent Crappie around 1 pm, my buddy decided it was too cold so he retreated to my small car to blast the heat. I stayed and hooked into several strong Chain Pickerel after the Crappies fled the scene. Most of them shook the hook free but still put up respectable battles. Next time I will use a bigger hook and land more of these fierce fighters.
Good luck fellow anglers!
