What a Rush Trout Fishing
Type: Freshwater
Region: North Central
Location: Principio Creek
I caught this 28 inch Rainbow Trout 4 days after opening day in Principio Creek off of Belvedere Rd. I was using a 4' 6" ultra light rod with 2 lb test line while jigging a pink trout magnet. It was the second cast in and 3 slight jigs later I hooked her. When she surfaced I couldn't believe my eyes. I asked myself, " What do I do? " I was alone with no net. I fought her for nearly fifteen minutess until I got to the shallow part, dropped the pole, reached in the water and threw her up on the bank. What a rush! That's the biggest trout I have ever caught.
