What Are these Bumps?

Type: Freshwater
Region: Central
Location: Patapsco River

My son and I were fishing at the McKeldin area in Marrotsville. We got this trout and it has weird raised bumps on the head. Could you possibly let me know what this is?

DNR Response: You caught a male River Chub exhibiting nuptial tubercles, which are small conical protuberances on the surface of the fish’s snout. Nuptial tubercles primarily function to facilitate contact between individuals for breeding.
