Sore Arms Sea Bass Fishing

Type: Ocean
Region: Eastern
Location: Ocean City

I heard about the good sea bass fishing off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland and decided to give it a try. I boarded the Morning Star headboat and after a 2 and 1/2 hour ride we arrived at our fishing spot. The swell going out was a little rough but nobody got seasick. At first the bite was slow but I caught a 12" Bluefish and then had a steady bite of Black Sea Bass. These were a better grade of fish around 13" to 16" long. The Captain moved about 1/4 mile and we continued to catch fish. I had a tough rod bender sea bass on that maybe weighed around 2 and 1/2 to 3 lbs. It was the pool winner by the end of the trip. My arms were sore reeling in about 50 sea bass of which 20 were kept to make my limit. This was one of the best trips of the year for me. I hope the good fishing will continue through December. After December it will be tog fishing for those ambitious enough to brave the cold weather. Tight lines all.
