About the Coastal Fisheries Advisory Committee

The development of the Coastal Fisheries Advisory Committee is identified in the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan for Maryland's Coastal Bays and also recommend by the Department's Coastal Bays Water-Use Management Plan Workgroup. The Coastal Fishery Advisory Committee serves to advise the Department of Natural Resources on coastal fisheries related issues.

Applications for Advisory Committee Vacancies Now Being Accepted

There are currently two vacancies on Maryland Department of Natural Resources' Coastal Fisheries Advisory Committee. The CFAC advises the Department on coastal fisheries issues, and supplies feedback to both the Sport Fisheries Advisory Commission and the Aquaculture Coordinating Council on Departmental issues. Committee members serve 3 year terms and are required to attend 4 quarterly meetings annually. Meetings are held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Ocean City area.
